Welcome to Ebbert Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers, located in San Diego County. We are a small hobby breeder and we raise 2-3 litters of AKC registered Golden and Labrador puppies a year. Our puppies are raised with tender loving care in our home, with plenty of cuddle time and socialization with people of all ages and other dogs (we have a Pomeranian, a Springer Spaniel, 2 Golden Retrievers and 3 Labradors). Once they are old enough, the pups go into our puppy-proofed, climate controlled, converted garage which has a doggy door to the outside. The floor is covered with cedar/pine shavings for absorbtion of waste and odor. The soiled shavings are removed several times a day and the floor is disinfected. The pups are given plenty of age appropriate toys and a large crate with soft bedding inside where they can come and go as they please. This is a good foundation for crate training as the pups learn not to soil the bedding that they sleep in. Our pups begin the weaning process at age 3-4 weeks and are fed moistened premium quality large breed puppy kibble formulated with the proper ratios for slow growth which helps to prevent joint disorders. Prior to going to their new homes, pups have had their dewclaws removed, they have been microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and will have had a complete physical by our veterinarian. The pups also go home with an information packet including written health guarantee, detailed feeding and care instructions, AKC limited registration papers, vaccination record, and microchip. Our adult dogs are thoroughly screened for joint disorders prior to breeding. They pass a hip clearance, elbow clearance, patella clearance and cardiac clearance. These joint clearances are x-rays performed by a veterinarian and then submitted to an impartial board, the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) where they are read and scored. You can be assured that we have done everything possible to insure that our pups are free of inherited joint disorder and we back that up with a money back one year guarantee. Our adults absolutely love to retrieve and love the water. They can be found several times a day enjoying a swim in the pool, even in cold weather. They have loving, personable, correct Golden and Lab temperaments and proper conformation according to the Breed Standard as set forth by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Our Goldens are of the hunt/field type, with longer, leaner body style and head. Our Labradors are the English type, with stockier builds and heads. Please feel free to browse our website. Enjoy! |
